• Home Health Aide For the thousands of Americans living with conditions that require daily care and supervision, the assistance of home health aides (or HHAs) is invaluable. When a patient is elderly, physically disabled, terminally ill, or otherwise unable to care for themselves, being able to live at home rather than in long-term facility or hospital care allows him or her to retain an important measure of personal freedom. With the help of a home health aide (reporting to other medical professionals), a patient can maintain some level of independence and comfort.
